The wedding ring was a symbol of commitment, love and unity. But before the marriage was considered to be holy and blessed, it was worn by the bride and groom as a symbol of union. In the early days of marriage, there were no formal rings that signified commitment or wedding.

History of wedding rings in the 1920s

The 1920s was an era of immense change, wedding rings in 1920  were no exception.  The traditional wedding ring with the diamond was still a popular choice, but the 1920s wedding rings were far more flamboyant than their forefathers.  The wedding ring designs of the 1920s reflected the opulence of the era and included many beautiful pieces of jewelry that included: diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and many other precious stones.

Types of wedding rings in the 1920s

There were many different types of wedding rings in the 1920s.  Most of these rings were plain and simple, but there were some that had more intricate designs.  These types of rings included: gold bands with diamonds, gold bands with rubies, gold bands with emeralds, gold bands with sapphires, and many other types of designs. The styles of wedding rings in the 1920s included:

1920’s Diamond Wedding Rings

The diamond wedding ring was a popular style in the 1920s.  These rings were quite simple, but the diamonds were very large and had great value.  In addition to the large diamonds, these rings also had high quality metals such as gold and platinum used in them.  These are some of the most beautiful styles of wedding rings in the 1920s that you can buy today for a reasonable price.

1920’s Gold Wedding Rings

The gold wedding ring was a popular style in the 1920s.  These rings were quite simple, but the gold was very high quality and had great value.  In addition to the high quality gold, these rings also had high quality metals such as platinum used in them.  These are some of the most beautiful styles of wedding rings in the 1920s that you can buy today for a reasonable price.

1920’s Platinum Wedding Rings

The platinum wedding ring was a popular style in the 1920s.  These rings were quite simple, but the platinum was very high quality and had great value.  In addition to the high quality platinum, these rings also had high quality metals such as gold used in them.  These are some of the most beautiful styles of wedding rings in the 1920s that you can buy today for a reasonable price.

With the great economic depression starting in 1929 and lasting until about 1933, the trend of luxurious wedding rings came to an end.  Many couples choose to go back to a simpler style for their wedding bands which was simply a plain band made out of gold or silver with a simple engraving on it.

While this trend lasted for only about two years (1929-1931), it is interesting to note that this was an exact time period when men began wearing cufflinks instead of cufflinks and bracelets.  The popularity of this change can be attributed to the fact that cufflinks were much more affordable than expensive wedding rings during this time period.
