Fine Wines At Our Luxurious Romantic Hideaway
We have an extensive wine list available offering a good choice of carefully selected bottles.
Our cellars are kept constantly stocked so pre-ordering is not normally necessary - most clients select their wines on the day of arrival. If you require a large amount of the more unusual wines it is best to check with the Castle in advance to determine stock levels. Our house wines are highly recommended, representing a very good affordable choice.
We advise that you will require about ½ bottle of wine per person during the banquet. It is recommended that you organise wines for the banquet, as we do not operate a table service for individual drinks during the meal, and for the duration of the meal bar facilities are suspended. We do not allow guests to consume their own alcohol or to arrange corkage.
As we constantly source new supplies from our vintners the exact content of the list may vary over the year so we regret we cannot accept specific orders in advance.
At the conclusion of the meal staff will distribute glasses of champagne to your guests to accompany the speeches. Guests normally only require one glass each, whilst one bottle will give 5 glasses.
Punch and Mulled wine: At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony the piper and the photographer will escort the Bride and Groom to the lawns for a series of portraits. Most of your guests will make their way back to the hotel at this time.
Rather than having the group fracture or break up into smaller groups, the providing of punch will ensure the group congregate in one area and remain in a group until you finish with the photographers. During the summer months the chefs will provide strawberry champagne punch in the gardens whilst during the winter months they will provide hot mulled wine in the Drawing room.
Please note:The amount provided will give at least 1-2 glasses per person. Both mulled wine and punch are both strong alcohol and may not be suitable for some of your group.
